Ja Morant caught the entire world off guard with his involvement in plenty of controversies. He was accused of punching a 17-year-old boy when a pickup basketball game when wrong at his Tennessee home. If that wasn’t enough, the NBA star flashed a gun on his Instagram live a few weeks ago. It certainly did not look good for him and the reputation that he worked hard to build.
His actions off the court led many to call for his suspension and arrest. Rumors of his arrest and indefinite suspension from the league emerged right after. However, the Memphis Grizzlies suspended Ja for only 2 games, but he didn’t return afterward.

Recently, sources said that Adam Silver suspended Morant for 8 games, but he will be allowed to return on March 20, against the Dallas Mavericks. He will be returning sooner than many expected because of the fact that he has already spent a significant amount of time on the sidelines, missing 6 games.
Ja Morant admits to hurting his parents Tee Morant and Jamie Morant
Morant said during an ESPN interview with Jalen Rose, “It’s been even tougher on me because I know they raised me the right way. I know they did everything I asked of them and raised me and my little sister [Teniya] pretty much the right way. For me to be in the news for the wrong reasons, I know it hurt them but it hurt me even more because I feel like I let them down.”
As Morant said, he was in the news for all the wrong reasons. Any parent would have understandably felt disappointed and let down when their child makes poor choices. It looks like it isn’t any different with Ja. Before this incident happened, Tee Morant was afraid of exactly what eventually went down.
When the 17-year-old boy was about to leave Ja’s house, the latter allegedly came toward the teenager and held his gun on his waistband, as per The Washington Post. This was when Tee got in the middle of it and shouted at Ja, “No, no, no. Go back. Go back in the house.” It speaks at length about how he wanted to protect both of the young men.
It will delightful for fans to see that Ja has owned up to his mistakes. He has also claimed that the target is now winning the NBA championship with the Grizzlies and it will be interesting to see if he manages to lead them to it.
