SUMMARY
- Dwayne Johnson has given WWE fans a huge update about his career, as he shared a traning video on Instagram.
- As The Final Boss posted it on social media, WWE star Baron Corbin has offered his help to Dwayne Johnson.
Dwayne Johnson did some of his best work in the professional wrestling world during his recent WWE run as The Final Boss. The People’s Champion was an important part of Cody Rhodes’ feux with Roman Reigns. But despite Dwayne’s best efforts, The American Nightmare finishes his story at WrestleMania 40, and now The Rock is back in Hollywood.
After his interaction with Rhodes on the RAW after WrestleMania, Johnson hasn’t been seen in the promotion. But the actor recently posted an update on Instagram, as he shared a video of training for his upcoming film, The Smashing Machine. The movie is set to be out in 2025, and it is based on the story of UFC champion Mark Kerr. That’s why The Brahma Bull has started training in mixed martial arts.
Sharing a video of grinding inside the ring to learn the combat sports art, The Rock wrote, Day 1. MMA Training Camp. Preparing for “Smashing Machine.” But what surprised the WWE Universe a lot was that veteran in-ring performer Baron Corbin had a special message to share after watching the clip from Dwayne.

Commenting under The Final Boss’s Instagram post, The Lone Wolf wrote, “If i get the part, Im taking your down haha. I still owe you.” This comment from Baron has come out as a shocker for many fans, as they wonder if Corbin has really called out Hollywood Rock. But it’s probably his way of offering help to Dwayne Johnson as the WWE legend prepares for a challenging new project.
Baron Corbin still loves his 2019 segment with The Rock
The 37-year-old WWE star has previously admired Dwayne for his contributions to the industry and also to his personal growth, as Baron has also worked with him. It happened on the October 4, 2019, episode of Friday Night SmackDown as the show moved to Fox, and both of them had a segment on the show, as Corbin took a Rock Bottom and a Spinebuster.
Talking about the same during a 2023 interview with Chris Van Vliet, The Lone Wolf revealed that he still loves his 2019 segment with Dwayne. He said, “That was never in my wildest dreams and then it happened. I spent the afternoon talking to The Rock, like, ‘How do I capitalize on this? What can I do about this? How do I get better?’ Asking for information that I can apply and use that will benefit me.” (Via: Fightful)
Such comments showcase how that segment with The Brahma Bull was more like a fanboy moment for the former United States Champion. Thus, it’s safe to say that his recent comment under The Rock’s Instagram video is most probably just his way of having a fun interaction with the guy he carries an immense amount of respect for.
Baron Corbin wants to repay his debt to The Rock
While Corbin’s remark about taking down The People’s Champion created a sort of buzz among the audience, not many noticed the other side of it. The Lone Wolf also added, “I still owe you,” in his comment, and it shows that Baron Corbin wants to repay his debt to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
While one of doing this can be offering help to The Final Boss in the preparation for the new project, the other way can be by creating a legacy in the industry. To achieve greatness and repay his debt to Johnson, Baron has the perfect platform now, as he has been called up to SmackDown under the 2024 Draft.
After revolutionizing his in-ring career through the exceptional work he did on the company’s developmental territory, the 39-year-old WWE star has been called up to the main roster once again, and he won’t like to miss this opportunity. Now that Baron Corbin has the chance to make it big on the blue brand, he could achieve everything he wants as a performer.
But will the organization give him the opportunities he deserves, or will he once again have to be a side character in someone else’s story? Only time will tell. But one thing is sure: if The Lone Wolf gets the chances, he will make sure he ends up becoming the face of the brand.
