Amir Khan took on Kell Brook in a highly anticipated catchweight bout scheduled for 12 rounds in front of jam-packed AO arena in Manchester. After decades of rivalry, these two British boxers finally stepped inside the ring to square off against each other.
In this blockbuster main event bout, The Special One outclassed the fan favourite King Khan and defeated him via TKO in the sixth round. Speaking about this fight, Brook completely dominated Khan from the minute go.
Brook kept pushing Amir on the backfoot with his jabs. He stunned King Khan with a big right hand in the first round but Amir somehow managed to survive and kept on clinging. Kell Brook significantly out landed Amir Khan in all departments comfortably and dished out a lot of damage.

The 35 year old showed great resiliency to stay on his feet despite suffering big blows from Brook throughout the fight. However, in the sixth round, Brook had Khan on the ropes and he hurt him with a big right hand. Thereafter the referee decided that it was enough and stopped the fight instantly.

After suffering a lopsided stoppage loss against long time rival Kell Brook, Amir Khan gave an heartfelt interview to Sky Sports. While sharing his thoughts about the fight, King Khan reflected upon his mistakes and revealed his experience of training with Terence Crawford for this grudge bout.
Thereafter The 35 year old former champion was also questioned about his future after losing against The Special One. To which King Khan responded by giving an indication that it could be time to hang up his boots.

Forty fights. I mean a lot of fights. Winning two world titles, flying up and down America and around the world. I mean I need to sit down with my family but I think it is towards the end of my career. And obviously, the love for the sport is not there anymore like it was before.
“When I used to be in the ring I used to have the excitement and the push. But I didn’t have it in me it felt quite flat. I think that’s maybe a sign for me to know that I should be calling a day,” said Amir Khan.
