UFC Welterweight star Jorge Masvidal has finally responded to Jake Paul’s callout for a potential matchup in a boxing ring. Jake and Jorge have been going back-and-forth, engaging in Twitter warfare for quite some time now.
In a recent interview, Masvidal clarified that he will fight ‘The Problem Child’ in a boxing ring, but only if he’s offered a good amount of money.
Jorge and Jake were on good terms, as they were seen training together before Paul’s match-up with Ben Askren for his third professional fight, which resulted in Paul KO’ing Askren.
But things took a bitter turn when Masvidal backed up Tyron Woodley in his boxing bout against Paul. Jake outpointed Woodley to win the bout anyway.
Shortly after that fight, Paul ended up with a rematch with Woodley which resulted in Jake brutally knocking out the former UFC champion. Ever since then Paul has repeatedly called out Masvidal and most recently after Jorge was beaten by Colby Covington.
‘Gamebred’ rejected that proposed $5 Million offer, but he is now open to a potential fight with Jake in the future. In a recent podcast in Logan Paul’s Impaulsive he assessed:
“I love money and if it made me money, like a ton of it, then why the f*** not?”
“He just got into this like five or six years ago. I’ve been doing it since I was a kid. So even though it’s not what I have my f***ing Ph.D. in. It’s still a form of combat that I have way more time than him doing. Big money and I would bet on myself that I win that fight.” Masvidal concluded.
Jorge Masvidal Opens up About His Recent Altercations With Colby Covington
After his alleged assault on Covington at a restaurant in Miami, Masvidal has invited a lot of criticism lately, following his loss against Colby at UFC 272.
Jorge was arrested after sucker-punching Covington. He now faces felony charges of battery aggravation, and criminal mischief following the alleged altercation.
In the recent podcast, he has reflected on their clash back at UFC 272 and assessed the altercation they had.
“I was f***ing irate. I was upset, you know? I just like to be in isolation when I get like that. It’s just better for me. Take a couple of days to figure it out.”
The California native is in desperate need of a win after his back-to-back losses and recent run-ins with the law. It will be intriguing to see him bouncing back from that and fight Jake Paul in a boxing ring in near future.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer has repeatedly called out ‘Gamebred’ on numerous occasions, but with no answer from Masvidal. Until recently when he finally talked about fighting Jake in a boxing match among many things.
The former BMF titleholder is signed to a five-fight deal with the UFC as of now. But he clarified that if the money is right, then the UFC might allow Masvidal for a boxing bout against Jake Paul.
