UFC fighter Tom Aspinall thinks Alexander Volkov has more advantages over him
Top heavyweight prospect Tom Aspinall is definitely one of the heaviest hitters to ever step foot inside the octagon. This weekend the British fighter would be facing his biggest challenge till date when he takes on the Russian giant Alexander Volkov.
While speaking with BT Sport’s Nick Peet, Tom Aspinall mentioned that the ‘Drago’ has got more advantages over him coming into their fight. But Tom Aspinall also mentioned that he only needs to land one good punch to sleep the Russian fighter.
“He’s 6ft 8, rangy Russian, great kicks, great takedown defence, really underrated on the ground as well, done five rounds 70,000 times, I’ve never done it so he has all kinds of advantages on me. But I’m dangerous man, I need to hit you once and that’s it. I don’t just need to punch you, I can do a whole load of things to finish the fight that nobody has ever seen before. That’s a massive advantage.”
Just four fights into his career with the UFC, Tom Aspinall finds himself headlining an event in his home country. But can he overcome the Russian giant Alexander Volkov this weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.
