With that being said, a major focus of fight enthusiasts on this Pay per view would be on the two title fights that will be taking place this weekend. Glover Teixeira will defend his light heavyweight title against rising star Jiri Prochazka in a five-round main event clash.
Valentina Shevchenko will step inside the ring to create history by defending her flyweight title against Talia Santos in the co-main event of UFC 275. As we are just a few days away from this PPV, the media interview session of UFC 275 took place today.
After the media event, the top three matchups that will compete against each other this weekend stepped on the stage and faced off for the first time. Light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira and Jiri Prochazka engaged in an intense staring showdown.
Consequently, fans were highly excited to see these two light heavyweights show such tenacity during the first faceoff. Following the staredown, the 43-year-old light heavyweight posed with his title, while Prochazka raised his hand and pointed towards the sky.
Thereafter Zhang Weili and Joanna Jędrzejczyk showed mutual respect to each other by shaking hands during their faceoff. In the end, flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko and Talia Santos also entered into a serious staring battle.
Glover Teixeira could probably retire after his title defence against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 275
Glover Teixeira had confirmed in one of the interviews recently that he wants to fight twice this year before announcing his retirement. However, things could change if the 42-year-old loses his light heavyweight title against Jiri Prochazka this weekend at UFC 275.
Because Teixeira wants to face Jan Blachowicz for the title rematch as his last fight. But losing the title would not make that matchup possible considering Jiri will probably face Blachowicz. Besides, the 43-year-old light heavyweight champion wouldn’t like to rise through the ranks after losing again.
Regardless of the outcome in the main event this weekend, Glover has proved his class and has given some memories to cherish for fight fans around the world.
