Once again, an unlucky eye poke affected Brandon, as he was eventually submitted by the now-champion Pantoja. Despite the loss, the flyweight contender recalibrated himself, collecting three wins on the bounce against the likes of Rogerio Bontorin, Matt Schnell, and Matheus Nicolau. Thus, his only losses in the UFC have come against the current and former champs.

For those unaware, Brandon Royval is an electrifying flyweight who fights out of Denver, Colorado, in the USA. He was born on August 16, 1992, in Denver, Colorado, United States. He is of American nationality. ‘Raw Dawg’, who has an older brother Darian, trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai at the age of 15.
Denver is at an elevation of over 5,000 ft. Altitude matters a lot during fights as the bouts that go the distance use up a lot of stamina. Moreover, UFC travels all over the world. Being accustomed to a high-altitude place is a big advantage for a fighter.
During UFC Fight Night 237’s media day, Royval was asked if he could cope up with Mexico City’s altitude. The fighter proudly explained how he is out of Denver so altitude is never an issue for him.

Reports have also suggested that he has Hispanic roots but they have not been confirmed. As such, even if it isn’t made public, one can assume that he does come from a Hispanic lineage.
To prove things even further, numerous comments on the fighter’s social media have been Hispanic people voicing their support. This was particularly visible ahead of his fight against Brandon Moreno. Similarly, there have been numerous conflicting reports of the fighter’s religion as well. Some outlets have branded him as a devout Muslim but there is no real evidence to support it.
Notably, some assumed through one of his posts in the UAE ahead of UFC 253 that he is a Muslim. However, several non-Muslims also wear Middle Eastern attire. It is not proof of his religion.
Similarly, some have theorized that Brandon is Christian, but there is no real evidence to back up this claim either. All things considered, it would appear as though the flyweight contender is not a very religious man and does not put much emphasis on it.
