The Memphis Grizzlies have been having a good run so far in the 2022-23 NBA season. They have a record of 10-6 so far. If we are being honest, their form should not be that surprising after all. With a prodigy like Ja Morant and other talents like Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr., the Grizzlies have the roster to do the talking. But will they be able to overcome the Brooklyn Nets tonight?
The Nets have missed superstar guard Kyrie Irving for the last 8 games. And the fact that they have gone 5-3 should not indicate that they are a better team without him. Initially, giving opportunities to the young players worked out, but Kevin Durant had to do his thing at the end of the day. In the last 8 games, KD has averaged 28.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6.0 assists.
Both of the teams have injuries and notable absences from their key players. It will change the usual tactics and strategies that the head coaches adopt for the game tonight.
The Memphis Grizzlies will be missing key players like Ja Morant and Desmond Bane against the Brooklyn Nets
The Grizzlies would be the favorites for tonight’s game against the Nets, given their form this season. However, it seems like the odds might favor the New York-based franchise. The Grizzlies will be missing Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, and even Jaren Jackson Jr. as well. It can’t possibly get more unfortunate for Memphis fans, mainly because all three of those players are their best performers this season.

Jackson Jr. – Return From Injury Management (RT Foot Surgery Recovery)

According to reports, all three of them are surely out for the game tonight. For those who don’t know, Ja sprained his left ankle last game, against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Reports have emerged recently mentioning that it is a Grade 1 sprain, and that Ja is week-to-week on return. The young superstar suffered the injury when OKC’s Luguentz Dort unintentionally dragged his right foot on the ground which caught Ja’s left ankle.

Can the Grizzlies win against the Nets without three of their starters tonight?
Ja, Desmond, and Jaren are three starters for the Grizzlies franchise. We know Ja is the face of the Grizzlies, but the other two also represent what the team stands for. Now that all three of them are out for the game tonight, that reduces the Grizzlies’ chances dramatically. Ja has averaged 28.6 points, 7.1 assists, and 6.2 rebounds this season.
It would be safe to say that the Memphis-based franchise would surely miss his services tonight. In addition to that, considering that there is a chance that Kyrie might also return for the Nets, the game might go in Brooklyn’s direction. However, if Dillon Brooks and Tyus Jones can step up tonight, the Grizzlies might be able to sneak past their opponents.
