The Boston Celtics are playing against the San Antonio Spurs tonight. The Celtics won their last game against the Indiana Pacers and are aiming to stretch their win streak to three games tonight. The Boston-based franchise has already qualified for the playoffs but has not shown any signs of slowing down just yet. The Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks are the other teams from the East to clinch playoffs as well.
The Spurs have been eliminated from playoff contention recently and they have very little to play for at this point. They are coming off three losses in a row, including one against the Milwaukee Bucks. They will be aiming to snap that streak tonight but some of their key players have suffered injuries.
Jayson Tatum is questionable for the Boston Celtics vs San Antonio Spurs game tonight
Jayson Tatum has been fortunate enough to not suffer any major injuries this year. Despite playing a total of 69 games in the 22-23 NBA season, JT has not been sidelined with any major injuries yet. However, he is listed as questionable ahead of tonight’s game against the Spurs. The Celtics guard is reportedly dealing with a left hip contusion.

The Celtics are favored over the Spurs despite Jayson Tatum’s absence
The Celtics are currently in good form, winning their last three games. That certainly means they are in high spirits ahead of tonight’s game as well. With that said, even without Tatum, the Celtics are still a strong team. Jaylen Brown will be a player who the Spurs will have to look out for tonight. The Spurs might face some difficulty breaking their opponents down, considering Keldon Johnson’s possible absence as well.
The last time these two teams faced was in January. The Celtics took a narrow 116-121 win against the Spurs. Brown and Tatum were the superstars that night, making 29 and 34 points respectively. The 2023 All-Star MVP is questionable, but the franchise is unlikely to risk his injury having already clinched playoffs. Although Tatum’s injury will be a huge blow, we can expect the Celtics to get the job done tonight.
