The Phoenix Suns will travel to the Spectrum Center in Charlotte to face the Charlotte Hornets tonight. It has been one of the most anticipated games of all season as Kevin Durant has been rumored to make his debut. Hornets fans recently received heartbreaking news when the franchise announced that LaMelo Ball will be out for the rest of the season. This will be a huge blow for the Hornets as their misery on the court continues.
The Suns lost their last game against the Milwaukee Bucks who didn’t have the services of superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. It will be interesting to see how they perform against the Hornets tonight, who will not have Melo as well. With that said, let’s look at the injury reports and expected rosters ahead of tonight’s game.
Kevin Durant is expected to make his debut for the Phoenix Suns vs the Charlotte Hornets tonight
For context, Durant suffered an MCL sprain last month and it has been 6 weeks since he set foot on an NBA court. He suffered the injury while playing against Jimmy Butler. This would be his second MCL sprain, after going through the same setback during his GSW days. Recently, the Suns announced that KD will make his debut against the Hornets.

Can Kevin Durant lead the Suns to a victory on his debut?
KD has not played for a significant amount of time but we can surely expect him to make a strong comeback. The Hornets will be without a key player and this will also work out in the Suns’ favor. The Arizona-based team has not been as successful as last season but they are still a great team with the likes of Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton on the team, along with Chris Paul.
The last time these teams faced was in January 2023. The Suns took a huge 128-97 win, thanks to notable contributions from Cameron Johnson and Mikal Bridges. Although both of them are at the Brooklyn Nets right now, the Suns will boast a world-class player on their roster in KD. It would be safe for us to predict that he would give the Suns the egde, along with Dbook.
