One of the nights that fans have been waiting for is finally here. The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics will be facing off at the TD Garden tonight. Fans have been waiting to witness one of the most experienced sides in the league go against a fairly young roster of the Celtics. Make no mistake, the Celtics went all the way to the NBA Finals last year, where they bowed down to the Golden State Warriors. They have been performing on a similar level this season, with a record of 35-15 and sitting at the top of the East.
The Lakers have not had much success in recent times. They missed the playoffs twice in a row and are currently looking to end that misery this year. The 17x NBA champs acquired Rui Hachimura’s services and are also rumored to be interested in upgrading from Patrick Beverley after signing him just at the start of the season. Their market activity isn’t all that surprising, the Lakers have had plenty of troubles with injuries in the last two years. Speaking of injuries, some of their stars might even be out of the fixture tonight against the Celtics.
LeBron James is questionable for the Los Angeles Lakers vs Boston Celtics game tonight
LeBron James is questionable to play against the Celtics tonight. It certainly looks like the left ankle soreness issue he has been having is continuing. Along with that, James was also out of action because of a right adductor injury. However, despite that, The King has managed to perform at the highest level even at 38 years old.

Apart from LeBron, Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves, and Lonnie Walker IV are also on the injury report for tonight’s game. Despite returning from injury just a game prior, AD seems to be feeling some discomfort. However, he is probable to play against the Celtics tonight.

The Celtics are slightly favored over the Lakers tonight
The Celtics hold the throne in the East right now, and with good reason too. They have been consistent and deadly on the court when needed. Recently, the Celtics even overcame the defending champs Golden State Warriors. It only shows that the mighty Lakers might not be as intimidating as they once were. When the Lakers and Celtics faced off last time in December 2022, the Boston-based franchise took the win.
Jayson Tatum was the star of the show that night, with 44 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists in 44 minutes. Jaylen Brown also did his thing with 25 points and 15 rebounds. For the Lakers, only Anthony Davis and LeBron were on point that day, which was certainly not enough. It would be quite safe for us to claim that it might be the same tonight.
LeBron will surely lead the Lakers’ battle, as he has been doing all season and in Davis’ absence due to injury as well. He has been averaging 29.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 7.0 assists this season for the Lakers and is undoubtedly one of the best players this year. The 4x NBA champ has been nearing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record for the NBA’s All-Time leading scorer and his absence tonight will not be helpful for that.
