The Detroit Pistons will play against the Dallas Mavericks tonight at the Little Caesars Arena. It is the only NBA game tonight and both fanbases will be excited to see how their team performs. The Mavericks have had quite a hard time this season. During the 2022-23 NBA season so far, they have won only 10 out of 20 games. This is quite disappointing for the franchise considering they performed exceptionally last season.
The Pistons have not been doing particularly well as well. They sit last on the Eastern Conference table with just 5 wins out of 23 wins. The game tonight against the Mavs will be a must-win for them, mainly because it could boost the morale of the players to build up the momentum for the upcoming games. But there is some unfortunate news for the Pistons franchise and their fans.
The Dallas Mavericks will have their squad at full strength vs the Detroit Pistons tonight
The Dallas Mavericks do not have any major players out for tonight’s game against the Pistons. Luka Doncic, Tim Hardaway Jr, and Spencer Dinwiddie will all be playing tonight. It would mean that they have their squad at full strength which would be exactly what Mavs fans would have wanted to hear. However, the only two players on their injury report are Kemba Walker and McKinley Wright IV.

Both of them are rotational players for the Mavs right now, which means it might not affect Jason Kidd’s strategy to take the win tonight.

The Pistons have key players suffering from major injuries. Both Jaden Ivey and Cade Cunningham, who are vital for the Pistons, are out for the game tonight against the Mavericks. Jaden’s injury is not as serious as Cade’s and he might be back soon. However, we do not know Cade’s return date after injuring his shin.

Can Luka Doncic lead the Mavs to a win tonight?
As we all know, the Mavs are not having the best of times in the NBA this year. Their performances have been under par at times. In addition to that, it looks like they depend on Luka too much and they aren’t able to find the best partner to start alongside the Slovenian. Many have claimed that this could be Christian Wood in recent times but Jason Kidd has not finalized this just yet.
Despite losing to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Mavericks defeated the defending champs Golden State Warriors last game. The game was quite close as it ended 116-113. Luka was on fire once again, after making 41 points, 12 points rebounds, and assists each. It was a classic Luka night for all the Mavs fans. It seems like that could be the case against the Pistons as well.
The Detroit-based franchise will miss both Jaden and Cade, meaning they will not have two of their biggest threats on the court. They will most likely fail to test the Mavs defense and Luka might punish them on the night as well.
