The Atlanta Hawks will face the New Orleans Pelicans on the road tonight. The Hawks are coming off a loss against the Denver Nuggets and are aiming to improve their position in the East. The Hawks are currently 8th seed, with 27 wins and losses each. This will surely not be what they expected at the start of the season. With a win against the Pelicans tonight, Trae Young and Co. should be able to gain some momentum going forward.
The Pelicans have had a disappointing midseason in recent times. At one point, they lost ten games in a row but managed to turn the ship around against the Los Angeles Lakers recently. Since taking the win against LeBron James and the Lakers, the Pelicans have won another game against the Sacramento Kings as well. It would be pretty safe for us to claim that the Pelicans are aiming to stretch their winning streak to 3 games with a win over the Hawks tonight. However, injuries might be a huge hurdle for the Pelicans, as some of their stars are on the sidelines.
Trae Young is available for the Atlanta Hawks vs New Orleans Pelicans game tonight
Trae Young has been pretty unfortunate to be on the injury report. In the last few days, Hawks have announced that Trae has been facing right ankle soreness and suffered a non-COVID illness as well. The former kept Trae out of action against the Portland Trail Blazers at the end of January. This is the main reason why Hawks fans have been eager to find out if Young is fit for the Pelicans game tonight.

Former Duke superstar Zion Williamson is still out of regular season action after suffering a hamstring injury a couple of weeks ago. Sources claim that the Pelicans will re-evaluate Zion in two weeks to identify the progress he has made in terms of recovery.
The Hawks are favored over the Pelicans to take the win tonight
The Hawks have not been doing well in recent times, with a 5-5 record in their last 10 games. But an important points that fans would want to be aware of is that they do not have any injuries ahead of tonight’s game. That will play a significant role in how the game turns out tonight. Moreover, Zion’s absence for the Pelicans has been duly noted, but they did emerge victorious against the mighty Lakers recently. Despite that, we can predict that Trae and Murray will help the Hawks to get the job done tonight.
The Hawks won against the Pelicans 121-124 the last time they faced in November 2022. Interestingly, Zion was one of the standout players for the Pelicans that night, with 29 points. CJ McCollum also contributed the same that day but it was to no avail. Trae’s double-double and Dejounte Murray’s sensational triple-double was enough for the Hawks to be triumphant. We can expect the same to be the case tonight for Trae as well.
