In 2018, Thomas had a hip injury and he opted to avoid surgery which became one of the reasons why he is no longer a part of the league. After the injury, his performances weren’t up to the mark and as a result, Thomas found himself getting traded often. Eventually, he remained unsigned in the NBA 2022-23 season and his storied career came to an end.
