The UFC’s lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev will defend his title for the first time at UFC 284. His first title defense is scheduled to be against P4P #1, Alexander Volkanovski. Makhachev has quickly become one of the UFC’s biggest stars owing to his dominant performances inside the cage.
Over the course of his career, The Dagestani lightweight has shown a kind of dominance almost never seen before in the octagon. The only possible parallel is when his Dagestani brethren, Khabib Nurmagomedov was ruling the UFC’s lightweight division. He recently schooled Charles Oliveira over the course of 8 minutes during their UFC 280 lightweight title fight.
This continued domination makes Islam highly sought after by sponsors. Now, one of the UFC’s biggest sponsors is endorsing the lightweight champion. Only a week before his mega-fight against Volkanovski in Perth, Islam Makhchev has been sponsored by Monster Energy.

The 31-year-old announced this on his Twitter handle. He wrote, “Happy to share great news that I’m joining @monsterenergy team. Together we will reach new heights. Let’s get that P4P #1 rank.” Makhachev joins an elite club of champions after receiving this sponsorship. Other UFC athletes sponsored by the energy drink company include Jon Jones, Stipe Miocic, and Rose Namajunas.
Receiving an endorsement from one of the biggest brands in the world will surely be a proud moment for the champion. It will also be a boost to his confidence as he prepares for his biggest challenge yet.
Islam Makhachev endorsement deals
Over the years, several sponsors have endorsed Islam Makhachev apart from Monster Energy. In September 2021, Makhachev announced that Wahed Invest had chosen him to be their Global Brand Ambassador. “I want EVERYONE to have access to ethical and halal investments, so I am excited to join @wahedinvest as their global brand ambassador,” was what Islam captioned in the announcement post. He has shared posts related to the company even in 2022.

The UFC lightweight champion has also promoted Gorilla Energy for quite some time now. His Dagestani compatriot, Khabib, has also promoted the energy drink brand. Even as far back as 2021, Makhachev made this known through his social media. He wrote in an Instagram post, “You don’t have to wait. Grab a @gorillaenergy зь 🥭 start your summer now! #силавтебе #gorillaenergy #mango #coconut #после #ифтара”
Makhachev’s sponsorship came back in August 2020 when he announced that the Islamic brand Alhadaya had signed him. “Alhadaya black cumin oil is a complex of vitamins and minerals that every person needs. You can order black cumin oil and consult at @alhadaya_karazere @alhadaya.ru.” wrote Islam in an Instagram post. The sponsors will surely continue rolling in if Makhachev is able to steamroll his way through the UFC’s P4P #1 fighter.
