Nick Diaz UFC 266 Loss

Nick Diaz suffered a loss in his UFC comeback against Robbie Lawler at UFC 266 in Las Vegas. In the post-fight interview with DC, Diaz revealed that he wasn’t really prepared for this fight as he didn’t know how the fight got set up. ” I had to switch up a lot, you know, In my whole management before the fight,” Nick said.

Diaz is known for his open comments and expressing his views without hiding anything. He seemed annoyed with the matchmaking but didn’t use his unhappiness about the match as an excuse and gave credit to Lawler being in great shape and outperforming him.

The Stockton native was under a lot of stress before the fight and had some doubts that he might fall short this time. ” I knew I had it coming, especially being off for a long time,” Diaz revealed.

Certainly, for a fighter who is returning after 5 long years, it is unjustifiable to give him such a fight with only 6 weeks of preparation.

However, Diaz still made it into the fight and was also able to put on a show for the fans who came to see him fight after such a long hiatus. Therefore, he himself is satisfied with his performance.

Nick Diaz believes Kamaru is the best opponent for him

Not long ago before the fight, Nick Diaz in an interview with ESPN explained his bitter relationship with MMA and how this sport treated him unfairly.

In the same interview, Nick cleared his opinions about his return matchup against Robbie Lawler. Diaz believes that he shouldn’t even be fighting with Lawler in the first place. He expressed his annoyance by saying “whoever set this fight up is an idiot“.

Diaz shared that the fight doesn’t even make sense to him as he has already beaten Lawler in the past. “I don’t know why I’m doing this… This should not happen.” Diaz said.

According to Diaz, he had a better chance of defeating Usman. ” I don’t know why this happened. I should be fighting Usman and that’s it.”

However, now that Nick has lost, fighting Kamaru is highly unlikely. But, when it’s about Diaz Brothers’ all bets are off. Do let us know who you think Nick Diaz should fight next? in the comment section.
