Roger Federer and Wimbledon will always be iconic duos. Just like how Rafael Nadal is known for his exploits on the clay court and particularly the French Open, the same can be said for Roger Federer and the grass court.
Even though Roger Federer missed out on this year’s Wimbledon due to injuries, he still has the respect and the admiration of the fans. Roger Federer made his long-awaited comeback as a spectator on the Center Court in order to celebrate its 100th anniversary and received a standing ovation from the crowd.

The event was a legend-studded affair and he was accompanied by other stars such as Rafael Nadal, Rod Laver, Venus Williams and Bjorn Borg. Billie Jean King and Novak Djokovic were also present before Roger Federer decided to take an impromptu stroll on the court.
The last time Roger Federer was up on the centre court was during the 2021 Wimbledon Championship Quarterfinals against Hubert Hurkacz, an encounter which he lost. By the amount of applause he receives it can surely be said that the fans miss him.
Roger Federer to make his comeback in the Laver Cup
Fans and Federer himself have been anticipating his much-awaited comeback to professional tennis. If everything goes on as planned we will be able to watch him play at the Laver Cup with Rafael Nadal as his teammate. The Laver’s Cup is slated to be held in September.
Regarding his comeback, Federer made a statement in the press that stated,
“I’ve missed being here,”
“I would have loved to be here. I knew walking out here last year, that it was gonna be a tough year ahead. Maybe I didn’t think it was gonna take me this long to come back but the knee has been rough on me. But I’ve been happy.”
Apart from the Laver Cup, Federer has confirmed his participation in the ATP event in Basel, which has finally returned back to the tennis calendar after it had been cancelled for the last two years due to the pandemic.
Matteo Berrettini also reflected on Federer by saying that Roger has won it all and there is no harm for him now to enjoy his tennis.
