Ja Morant has emerged as the face of the Memphis Grizzlies franchise in recent years. The American was drafted as the second pick at the 2019 NBA Draft. In such a short timeframe, Ja has cemented his place as one of the best guards in the league. Although it has been fascinating for fans to witness, Ja has had his fair share of drama off the court.

Morant came under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons after being spotted with a firearm. If that wasn’t enough, he had an altercation with the Indiana Pacers team at the FedEx forum recently. It led to his ban from the arena for one year.
Ja wasn’t too happy about this and blasted the media by saying, “Still let a article come out to paint this negative image on me & my fam. & banned my brother from home games for a year. unbelievable.”
Until that point, the NBA world wasn’t aware of who Davonte was. He went undrafted at the 2022 NBA Draft and has not signed with any basketball team since then. However, Pack made headlines just a few months before that year’s draft.
Davonte Pack requested Ja Morant’s for his jersey after his first 50-point game
The Memphis Grizzlies faced the San Antonio Spurs on February 28, 2022. Morant put up a sensational performance to help the Grizzlies take the W. He made 52 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. That was also his first-ever 50-point game in the NBA. That must’ve surely been a special occasion for the player, and he had a special friend to share it with.
On the sidelines, Davonte Pack was elated to witness his childhood friend ball out in front of millions. He had requested the player for his jersey from his first 50-point game, and Ja didn’t walk back on his words. After the game, Ja reportedly said, “I’m going to sign it for him. That jersey is his.”

Pack was a decent player in college, averaging 14.9 points, 2.79 assists, and 6.9 rebounds. However, it looks like these numbers were not enough to convince NBA franchises to draft him last year.
