WWE SmackDown was an extraordinary show this week, as it had several notable storyline progressions. While the first half of the show had Drew McIntyre’s vicious assault on CM Punk, the main event saw Cody Rhodes getting destroyed by a debuting Jacob Fatu. The 32-year-old superstar showed up on the show to save Solo Sikoa, and he had a dominant showing in Chicago.
In the main event of the June 21 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, The American Nightmare was up against Solo, and it was expected to be a hard-hitting contest. But, as Cody started getting some momentum, The Bloodline made its presence felt. Tama Tonga and Tama Loa showed up to attack Rhodes and thus ended the bout with a no-disqualification.
But, soon after the heels entered the ring, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens also rushed to the ring, as they tried to save the Undisputed WWE Champion from the assault by the heel faction. After a brawl, it was just Cody and Solo Sikoa who were left in the ring, as Rhodes had Solo in the ring corner. But, then happened the unexpected, as Jacob Fatu came out of nowhere and started attacking the fan-favorite superstar.

Making a huge statement during his WWE debut on SmackDown, Fatu did everything in his power to keep The American Nightmare, and it was evident from his actions that he’s determined to destroy Cody Rhodes. After a dive on Cody over the table, Jacob made his way to the ring, as Solo Sikoa hugged him. Following this, the entire Bloodline stood tall in the ring, as Friday’s show went off-air.
WWE Universe seems pretty impressed by Jacob Fatu
As soon as Jacob Fatu made his debut on Friday Night SmackDown, the WWE Universe started praising him for his spectacular performance, and it was evident from their responses that Fatu has impressed the majority of pro wrestling audience. Pointing out how Jacob’s debut on this week’s show was just perfect, an audience member said, “That’s how you make a debut.”
Sharing how this entire segment was unexpected for most of the fans, someone wrote, “Wow that was shocking.” Requesting the Stamford-based promotion to give Jacob the spotlight by putting him in the main event scene, a pro wrestling enthusiast said, “Push him to the moon.” “Already has more Aura then Solo,” another member of the WWE Universe stated while doing a comparison between Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa.
Jacob Fatu’s debut was delayed because of Solo Sikoa
While some of the fans have been claiming that Fatu was able to go beyond being just a member of The Bloodline through a single appearance, as he ourtshined Solo, WWE probably saw it coming a long time ago. In fact, Jacob Fatu’s debut was delayed because of Solo Sikoa, as the company feared that Jacob’s presence might hold back Sikoa’s aura as the leader of the heel faction.
WrestleVotes is reporting that there is a worry within WWE creative that Jacob Fatu will outshine Solo Sikoa.

Jacob should be the leader of The Bloodline 2.0. He’s THAT guy in the ring & on the mic.
He’s going to outshine a lot of people. pic.twitter.com/c7x75pjPI3
Due to this reason, the Stamford-based promotion kept Fatu on the sidelines, despite their wish to insert him in The Bloodline saga. WWE’s decision probably worked a bit, as Solo Sikoa improved a lot of things, and that’s potentially the reason why they had Jacob Fatu make his debut. But, in his very first appearance, the 32-year-old seemed a level apart, and that’s why it now remains to be seen how this angle is handled going forward.
