It looks like Colby Covington’s so-called mystery video on Dustin Poirier has not gone well Poirier’s close friend Jorge Masvidal and rightfully so. While the beef between Masvidal ad Covington is apparent to the entire world, it’s no secret that even Covington and Poirier do not share a cordial relationship with each other. Meanwhile, Jorge Masvidal and Dustin Poirier are extremely close friends, and often spar with each other at the American Top Team gym.
The guy wearing full nerf gear head to toe to protect his face and his feelings is Poirier. The guy with no headgear, wrestling credentials or brain cells left is “khabib.” @DustinPoirier Good guy? Bad guy? You be the judge????⚖️ #AndNew #UFC264 pic.twitter.com/EMMFwC2b4E

Soon after Covington dropped the video seemingly exposing “nice guy” Dustin Poirier where the former interim champion looks to be celebrating after knocking down his sparring partner, the former interim champion came out in defense and stated that the athlete opposite him is a professional fighter with more than 20 pro-fights.
Why don’t you post the video of @DustinPoirier dropping you with a body shot? Always hating on people with power #supernecessary

Covington’s former best friend turned foe Jorge Masvidal also took to Twitter and ridiculed Covington for his recent shenanigan. Masvidal challenged the former interim welterweight champion to release the video where Dustin Poirier knocks him down with a body shot.
Colby Covington leaves it to the fans to decide if Dustin Poirier is a nice guy
It’s common knowledge that Covington, Poirier, and Masvidal used to train together at one point at American Top Team. However, differences because of Covington escalated to a level that Chaos was ousted from the gym. Covington maintained that his ouster came in the light of Poirier and Masvidal’s complaints and remains critical of both the fighters.
Colby Covington has never missed a chance to take a dig at Dustin Poirier. In the past, Covington has accused Poirier of throwing in a facade, while accusing him of evading taxes with his foundation, the Good Fight Foundation. Additionally, Covington has also ridiculed Poirier for being too emotional, mocking him after he broke down after his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov back at UFC 229.
While Covington predicts another win by Poirier going into the trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier, it’s safe to say that the Choas could be looking at a potential fight with the former interim lightweight champion in the near future.
