Jose Aldo has cemented his position as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. The former featherweight champion has proved his credibility inside the UFC Octagon on various occasions. However, despite the popularity, he remains relatively a private person, opting to keep his personal life away from the glitz and glamour of social media.
Jose Aldo hails from Manaus, Brazil, and was born on September 9, 1986. Jose Aldo is a former bronze medalist in the 2001 World Jiu-Jitsu Championship. However, Jose Aldo didn’t want to be a mixed martial artist but rather had his eyes set on becoming a professional footballer. Over the years, Jose Aldo has become a prominent name in the world of mixed martial arts, and his reign as the featherweight champion in the UFC is regarded as one of the most dominant championship reigns in the history of MMA.

According to various reports on the internet, Jose Aldo met Vivianne in a dojo in Brazil. Both Aldo and Vivianne had known each other for quite some time, and after years of dating, eventually got married in the year 2005.
Vivianne Aldo is not a fight fan, even though she has competed professionally. Vivianne recounts the first fight of Aldo she witnessed while being near the UFC Octagon, was against Chan Sung Jung back in August of 2013 where Aldo picked up a fourth-round stoppage win to defend his featherweight gold.
“The first fight I went to was against ‘[Korean] Zombie’ and I couldn’t even watch it. I go to the arena, but I can’t watch it. I don’t know, it’s like I’m watching a movie in my head of everything he went through in his camp. It’s a woman thing, I guess.”
Vivianne also recounts how it was a difficult time for Jose Aldo after his loss to Conor McGregor back at UFC 194. Needless to say, the loss against Conor McGregor marked the first loss of Aldo’s MMA career after a 18 fight win streak.
“The Conor McGregor loss was devastating. It took a while, maybe a month, to bring him back up again. But I think I suffer more than he does. He has a better head. But the way it was, too fast, and the disappointment of not having a rematch when other champions had, that frustrated him. It was hard to motivate him.”
Jose Aldo’s daughter – Joanna Aldo
Jose Aldo and Vivianne Aldo are blessed with a daughter. Joanna Aldo was born in 2012. Not much is known about Jose Aldo’s daughter, however, in a conversation with MMA Fighting, Aldo’s wife Vivianne revealed that Joanna is lactose intolerant and hence can’t have chocolate. However, Viviane has a sweet tooth but often has to subside her habit of eating chocolates considering Jose Aldo doesn’t like sweets and opts for a healthy lifestyle.
