Jake Paul picked up the third straight victory of his professional boxing career as he stopped former mixed martial arts world champion Ben Askren in the first round to send a statement to his fans and critics. With the victory, Paul is targeting several match-ups against popular faces including Conor McGregor. Earlier, even former UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker expressed his interest in fighting Jake Paul. In the list of the rumored opponents are England’s brightest prospect Tommy Fury who called out YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul after his emphatic win over Ben Askren. In response to a tweet from a fan who stated Justin Gaethje would beat Jake Paul, Dominance MMA CEO and Manager of Justin Gaethje, Ali Abdelaziz nodded his head in agreement. “Yes, he will,” he tweeted.
Justin Gaethje remains without an opponent since his submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov for the undisputed UFC lightweight champion late last year in 2020. The former interim lightweight champion rose to stardom after his emphatic win over Tony Ferguson back at UFC 249 where he became the first fighter to hand a stoppage loss to Tony Ferguson.
What are the chances of Justin Gaethje vs Jake Paul?
It won’t be wrong to say that Jake Paul might not receive much credit for his win over Ben Askren. The former Bellator and ONE Championship Welterweight Champion was never a good boxer. Askren relies heavily on his grappling abilities and made good use of his Division I wrestling to dominate his opponents. It was because of this that he was able to accomplish a lot in his mixed martial arts career. However, Askren was never a boxer.

Justin Gaethje on the other hand is one of the most proficient strikers in the world of mixed martial arts. He trains under renowned boxing coach Trevor Wittman. Needless to say, it’s a much tougher fight for Jake Paul should it happen. We can’t say Justin Gaethje vs Jake Paul will never happen, both Gaethje and Paul are incredibly popular and the match-up is bound to sell huge tickets.
