The sky was the limit for Kamaru Usman who proved to the world why he is one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time as he knocked out Jorge Masvidal with a vicious right hand to register his 14th straight win inside the UFC Octagon. Needless to say, Usman is expected to find more fight fans tuning in to watch him compete after back-to-back spectacular performances.

Masvidal KO

Kamaru Usman was present in the post-fight press conference where he shared his thoughts on the fight and what lies ahead for him going forward. With growing popularity, Usman was also questioned whether he would be interested in a super-fight, to which Usman had this to say.

“I don’t know. There is Nick here too. We will see.” Usman said, evidently teasing a potential showdown against the former Strikeforce welterweight champion. Nick Diaz was present in the crowd at UFC 261, with many fight fans expecting a call-out from Jorge Masvidal should he triumph over Kamaru Usman. However, that wasn’t the case as Nick Diaz got called out by Kamaru Usman in the post-fight press conference. Nick Diaz has not interacted with the media, however, UFC president Dana White confirmed that they will discuss his return to the Octagon.

Kamaru Usman vs Nick Diaz in 2021?

Nick Diaz has shown his interest to compete against, and it will be interesting to see what lies ahead for Nick Diaz as he makes his UFC return in the near future. Meanwhile, Kamaru Usman is at the top of the world right now, having secured his welterweight strap with a vicious KO win over Jorge Masvidal. In the process, Usman became the first fighter to get a KO victory over Masvidal.

In less than three months, Kamaru Usman has competed twice and against the two of the best fighters in the world of MMA right now in the form of Gilbert Burns and Jorge Masvidal. Usman has further cemented his legacy as arguably one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time.

Usman knocks out Masvidal

Nick Diaz vs Kamaru Usman is certainly exciting, however, it’s very unlikely that UFC goes ahead with the match-up. Nick has not competed in more than 5 years, and a lot would depend on his ability to come back from such a long gap. Needless to say, his return fight against the champion seems quite unfair, however, if there’s money in it, and both fighters agree, there’s every reason to believe that there is a high possibility we could see Kamaru Usman vs Nick Diaz.
