Warriors’ all-star guard Klay Thompson has been medically cleared after his ACL tear from the 2018-19 finals against Toronto. Consequently, he has been in rehab and is now cleared for workouts without any restrictions. Klay Thompson has been doing high-octane workouts. But due to the COVID 19 outbreak, he hasn’t been involved in any 5-man workouts.
Klay Thompson picked up the ACL injury in the game six of the 2018-19 NBA finals. Since then he has been sidelined for the entirety of the 2019-2020 season. Klay Thompon’s injury with Kevin Durant’s departure brought a very sad end to the Warriors dynasty. Subsequently, the Warriors have had a very abysmal season as starting point guard and former MVP Steph Curry was also injured with a broken hand. These injuries have derailed the Warriors and took them out of the playoff picture.
Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr said on a conference call with media members that he wants the NBA to permit teams who aren’t going to the Orlando Bubble to have workouts and camps. The teams who aren’t going to Orlando could miss up to nine months as the 2020-21 season is predicted to start on the 1st of December. Kerr needs time for the team to work out together and get ready for the next season.
It’s going to be a while for us to again witness the magic of the Splash Bros and the Warriors. But next season the Warriors would be the force of nature which they once were.
