It will be held in five sessions that would span three days. The team players are picked via two methods. Firstly the ATP rankings would determine the selection of three players per team and the rest three would be picked by the captain of the team.
Format of the Laver Cup
During the first two days of the tournament, each player needs to play at least one singles match. A minimum of four players need to play doubles and a single combination of doubles cannot be played more than once unless a decider is played on the third day.
A single player cannot play more than two single-category matches in three days. The first team that gets 13 points out of the 24 maximum points would go on to win the cup. In case the points are tied at 12, then a final overtime decider match would be played in the doubles category.
Whichever team wins the match, would win the cup. Since the inception of the tournament, Team Europe has gone on to win all the editions of the cup.
