UFC 273 was a stellar event filled with some great clashes that had the audience on the edge of their seats. But in the end, the money fight between Gilbert Burns vs Khamzat Chimaev in the main card was a show stealer as the fight had violence all written over it.
The fight consisted of several big moments as both Durinho and The Borz traded some big blows and stunned each other. However, either of the two welterweights were unable to find a finish and this three round bout went to the distance. The judges scored the contest in favour of Khamzat Chimaev and he maintained his undefeated streak.

Despite securing a big win over the #2 contender Gilbert Burns, Chimaev was unhappy with his performance as he promised a violent finish before the fight. Unlike his previous fights, where he outclassed his opponents and finished them in brutal condition, the Swedish welterweight faced many difficulties against The Brazilian.
Following his fifth victory in the promotion, Khamzat shared his thoughts with Lauro Sanko in a backstage interview. During this conversation, Chimaev revealed the reason behind his shaky display at UFC 273.
“I loved it, I was waiting for that war for a long time. But I was too excited to knock him out. You know I said to the guys I’ll knock him out. I was after that, that’s why I didn’t let my hands go like good I do in the training. It wasn’t the best like I could you know, my boxing much better. I feel sorry for my coaches I didn’t my best,” said Khamzat.
What’s next for Khamzat Chimaev after his win at UFC 273?
Khamzat Chimaev picked his fifth straight win in the UFC and that too against the number two welterweight contender Gilbert Burns at UFC 273. With this win, Chimaev who was #11 in the division will make a huge leap and would probably make it to the top 3 of the welterweight rankings.
With that being said, Chimaev is just one win away from a title shot and he would most likely take on former interim champion Colby Covington next. Because UFC President Dana White had indicated before this PPV that Khamzat would face Chaos next if he defeats Gilbert Burns.
It is needless to say that fight enthusiasts around the world would be excited to see this matchup and it is the right step as both Covington and Chimaev have defeated top contenders in their last bouts.
