Future NBA star Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks has currently shown his successful growth by scoring the highest points of 50 and 60 in the NBA. The 23-year-old is proving to be a great asset for the Dallas Mavericks.

While talking about his family roots in basketball, his father Sasa Doncic, is the only one who played basketball. He was a Slovenian basketball player who trained him at the start but later couldn’t follow the divorce from Mirjam Poterbin.

Apart from his family his Godfather Radoslav Nesterovic was an NBA player who played for 4 teams. Let’s take a look at the history of Radoslav Nesterovic.

Who is Radoslav Nesterovic?

Born on May 30, 1976, Radoslav Nesterovic is a Slovenian former professional basketball player. In 1998 he was drafted into NBA by the Minnesota Timberwolves and played till 2003 for four full seasons. Following this, he was traded to San Antonio Spurs in 2004 with a 6-year contract but played for only one season. In 2005 he was the NBA champion while playing for Spurs.

Later in 2006, he was traded to Toronto Raptors and played for 2 seasons. Next in 2008, he was traded to Indiana Pacers in exchange for Jermaine O’Neal. According to sources, in 2009 he was resigned by the Raptors for one season with the biannual exception of $1.9 million. Later in 2010, he signed a two-year contract with the Greek League powerhouse Olympiacos.

Before his NBA career, in 1992, he made his debut with the KD Slovan youth team and later with the junior club of KK Partizan. Later he was in PAOK of the Greek League which earned him Greek citizenship. Next, in 1995, he played for Union Olimpija. There he was named the MVP at the 1996 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship.

In 1998, he moved to the Italian League team Virtus (Kinder) Bologna playing alongside legendary players like Sasha Danilovic, Zoran Savic, and Antoine Rigaudeau. However, he got retired in 2011. Recently in an interview with Eurohoops, Rasho Nesterovic talked about Luka Doncic’s game.

“In his first year, he will figure out how things work. Then we can expect the real Luka in the next couple of years.” – he said.

Thus, the two have never been seen together in an event or so even though Radoslav was Luka’s Godfather.
