Manny Pacquiao suffered a horrific KO loss against arch-nemesis Juan Manuel Márquez back in December of 2012. The bout marks the last time that Pacquiao was stopped inside the boxing ring. Juan Manuel Márquez knocked out Manny Pacquiao in a highly anticipated fourth bout between the two boxers, which took place inside MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Márquez have shared the boxing ring four times in their boxing careers, with PacMan emerging victorious on two of those occasions. The first time both these boxing shared the boxing ring was back in May of 2004, where it ended in a draw after valiant efforts from both the boxers.
However, Pacquiao finally got the better of Márquez when he met him inside the ring once again after 4 years on March 15, 2008. Pacquiao picked up a split decision victory over the Mexican legend.
Going into the trilogy bout, Manny Pacquiao once again showed why he is one of the best as he registered a majority decision win over Juan Manuel Márquez, three years later, on November 12, 2011. All three bouts were incredibly close. However, it was the fourth and the final bout between the then 33-year-old Manny Pacquiao and 39-year-old Juan Manuel Márquez that shocked the boxing fans around the world.

In what was an extremely dominant performance from Pacquiao in the fourth bout against the Mexican legend, where he almost finished him in the closing moments of the fifth round, would go on to suffer a vicious KO loss in the closing moments of the sixth round of the bout.
What went wrong for Manny Pacquiao against Juan Manuel Márquez in the fourth bout?
Pacquiao was dominating Juan Manuel Márquez for the better part of the entire bout, except the last second that knocked him out cold in the sixth round. It won’t be wrong to say that Pacquiao got complacent. He realized how hurt Márquez was in the fifth round, and wanted to make a statement with a stoppage win. However, it turned out to be his downfall, as he walked into a vicious right hand from Marquez in the last second of the sixth round.
Manny Pacquiao dropped on the canvas much to the shock of boxing fans around the world. Needless to say, much credit foes to Juan Manuel Márquez for his valiant efforts against a very dangerous opponent in the form of Manny Pacquiao.
