Giannis Antetokounmpo, whom Damian Lillard said was his dream championship partner, is united with Lillard in the finale of the months-long Lillard trade story. Giannis has already indicated a liking for Dame, so this transaction may aid the Bucks’ bid for a third championship. What will the new roster look like, though, without Holiday and Allen?
However, there can be many alterations in the Bucks roster over the course of the season. Given that Lillard, Giannis, Middleton, and Brook Lopez are the top players on the roster at their positions, the Milwaukee Bucks won’t bench any of them; therefore, four of the starting spots will likely be secured.

Every position’s backups are yet to be determined. Lopez’s backup will unquestionably be Bobby Portis, who will also compete for the Sixth Man of the Year award and has previously gone close to winning it. Because of his defensive tenacity and offensive adaptability, Portis is a solid choice and Giannis’ partner.
All the Bucks need to do is add a point guard to serve as Lillard’s backup, since they already have Jae Crowder as Giannis’ backup and a rotating group of guys at shooting guard and small forward. The ideal player for this is now available in free agency, as Cam Payne and John Wall are both looking for jobs.
The Milwaukee Bucks roster looks something like this, sorted by positions:
Point Guards:
- Damian Lillard
- TyTy Washington Jr.
- Lindell Wigginton
Shooting Guards:
- Malik Beasley
- Pat Connaughton
- A.J. Green
- Andre Jackson Jr.
- Omari Moore
Small Forwards:
- Thanasis Antetokounmpo
- MarJon Beauchamp
- Jae Crowder
- Chris Livingston
- Khris Middleton
Power Forwards:
- Giannis Antetokounmpo
- Bobby Portis
- Drew Timme
Centers:
- Marques Bolden
- Brook Lopez
- Robin Lopez
Can Robin Lopez’s Milwaukee Bucks reunion with twin Brook Lopez be fruitful?
With the addition of center Robin Lopez, the Milwaukee Bucks’ frontline has become even bigger. This new scenario brings Brook Lopez, Robin’s twin brother, back together. Brook just agreed to a two-year contract to keep playing with the Bucks. Robin’s role in Milwaukee may be limited because the team also has Bobby Portis as a backup big man, but Lopez gives the team more frontcourt strength, which could be useful when playing top conference opponents like the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, and Philadelphia 76ers.
For the Cleveland Cavaliers last season, the 7-footer, 35, participated in 37 games. Lopez has played for nine different clubs over his career, averaging 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
Having said that, it all brings us down to one big question. What will the Milwaukee Bucks starting lineup look like? Well, the most logical lineup would include:
- PG: Damian Lillard
- SG: Pat Connaughton
- SF: Khris Middleton
- PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo
- C: Brook Lopez
The Bucks have a championship-contending roster, for sure. In the end, it was profitable to mortgage future selections for Holiday because the organization would go on to win their second NBA title in 2021. The same would apply to another championship won by the Bucks while Lillard was playing for them. After landing Damian Lillard in a blockbuster deal let’s have a look at what the Milwaukee Bucks’s power-packed roster looks like.
