Khamzat Chimaev recalls a childhood incident that left him with a scarred lip. While many might feel that Chimaev bust his lip inside the cage during a fight, that’s not the case.
“My mom told me this, but I don’t remember myself. I was two years old and we had a big staircase in our house and I fell down on the concrete.” (h/t Sport Bible) Chimaev recalls.
Chimaev reveals that he fell off a staircase, onto the concrete. The accident did not only leave him with a busted lip, but a couple of broken teeth, and severely injured his nose. While Chimaev does not remember much of the incident, he reveals how he can’t breathe properly from his right nostril due to the accident.
UFC fighters on Khamzat Chimaev’s lips
Conor McGregor has mocked Khamzat Chimaev for his scarred lip in the past. The Notorious called Khamzat “rat lip” on Twitter, reacting to Chimaev’s trash-talk. UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya has also made remarks on Chimaev’s lips. Meanwhile, several fans have pointed out that Chimaev’s tacky accent could be because of the scar on the lip.
