Chad Mendes will make his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) debut this weekend. The contest will mark the debut for the former UFC featherweight title contender at 155 lbs. He is set to fight Joshuah Alvarez at KnuckleMania2. The event will also feature the fan favourite Mike Perry going up against Julian Lane of the Ultimate Fighter fame.
Chad is still under contract with the UFC. During his retirement, Mendes still had 3 fights left on his contract. However, the organization permitted the 36-year old to go through with the fight despite the pre-existing contract.

Ahead of the fight in a days’ time, Chad Mendes revealed that he will make more money than Francis Ngannou. The UFC heavyweight champion had a reported pay of $600,000 for UFC 270. According to Mendes, his debut fight purse for BKFC against Alvarez will be greater.
How much money did Chad Mendes earn from his fight against Conor McGregor?
If the statement is indeed true, then it will be the biggest payday of Chad Mendes’ career. He had an elongated run in the UFC. The California native stepped inside the octagon 14 times and won 10 of those contests. During his tenure, Mendes had 5 post-fight bonuses.
Chad Mendes was considered one of the most dangerous fighters during his prime. He fought Jose Aldo twice for the undisputed UFC Featherweight Championship at UFC 142 and UFC 179 respectively. For both events, he reportedly made $18,000 and $98,000.
Chad ‘Money’ Mendes had the biggest payday of his career at UFC 189. The fight was for the interim championship as Jose Aldo pulled out of the originally scheduled main event. Despite coming up short against the ‘Notorious One’, Mendes earned a reported amount of $500,000. It is reported that Chad earned $1,655,000 throughout his UFC career.
However, it will change after this Saturday. But neither BKC nor Chad Mendes have revealed the official pay for the event. But going by Chad’s comments, it will most likely be more than $645,000. It is what France Ngannou made for his last fight.
