The rivalry between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz is one of the best feuds of the modern era. The Stockton Slugger and the Notorious shared the UFC Octagon on two occasions, and both the fights turned out to be one for the ages. Both the fights broke multiple PPV records and turned out to be an instant classic.
Nate Diaz made history as he handed McGregor his first loss inside the UFC Octagon back at UFC 196. In the rematch, Diaz gave a tough fight to the former champion, edging past Diaz via majority decision. Both the fighters have teased a potential trilogy.
It is still one of the most highly anticipated bouts of the modern era. Needless to say, both the fighters are expected to share the Octagon once again sometime in the future.

Recently, in a Twitter QNA, the Notorious praised the Stockton Slugger and hailed him as the toughest fighter he has ever faced. “Nate Diaz. The west coast zombie.” McGregor quoted.
Excellent fighter! The trilogy will be of epic proportions when it goes down. Nathan, and his fighting styles, are never far from my thoughts throughout my own practices.

Additionally, McGregor called him an “excellent fighter” and stated that his fighting style is always on the back of his head while practicing for his upcoming bouts. This is high praise from the former dual champion who is often considered as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time.
Nate Diaz to return in 2021
Soon after his rematch loss to Conor McGregor back at UFC 202, Diaz would go on a three-year-long hiatus. The Stockton Slugger returned to the Octagon against former champion Anthony Pettis late last year at the welterweight division. He won the fight via unanimous decision in an emphatic return to the Octagon.
Soon after, Diaz took on Jorge Masvidal for the symbolic BMF belt. However, Diaz failed to pick up the victory, losing via TKO in the third round via doctor stoppage. Needless to say, the doctor’s decision did not go too well with Diaz.
Not too long ago, Diaz took to Twitter as he teased a rematch against the former welterweight title contender by posting a video on Youtube titled, “Round 4.”
However, UFC President Dana White has shown more interest in Jorge Masvidal vs Colby Covington in a potential #1 contender’s match for the UFC welterweight championship.
