Nate Diaz has shut the doors on a potential Conor McGregor trilogy bout. The former lightweight title challenger Nate Diaz did not look too interested in fighting Conor McGregor in a potential trilogy bout after the Notorious’ loss last month against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.
“What they are trying to do is bring him back from the dead again. Bring him back from dead for them. I don’t think you can pay me enough money.”

In the lead-up to UFC 257, UFC President Dana White had stated that the promotion is looking at a potential match-up for Diaz in the lightweight division. However, nothing has been made official. Now, Diaz has made it clear that he has no interest in fighting in the 155 division. Earlier, McGregor had called for a potential trilogy bout against Nate Diaz for the UFC lightweight championship.

However, with McGregor losing his return flight, there were talks of a potential trilogy bout against McGregor next. Needless to say, Diaz has no interest in pushing for a trilogy bout against the Notorious.
Should Nate Diaz fight Conor McGregor next?
In all honestly, there is not much to gain for either of the fighters if they meet inside the Octagon next. While Diaz is coming off a TKO loss over Jorge Masvidal, McGregor is coming off a KO loss over Dustin Poirier. In all likelihood, there is not much to gain for the winner of this fight. However, there is a lot to lose for whoever loses the trilogy bout.
Nate Diaz also stated that there are a bunch of fighters he wants to have his rematch against so that he can strike the loss off from his resume. However, he hasn’t been offered a single rematch in his UFC career. He added that UFC could be looking at bringing Conor McGregor back on the top by pitting the former dual champion against him in a trilogy bout.

It’s not tough to agree with Nate Diaz. With a lot of options ahead of him in the form of Tony Ferguson, Justin Gaethje, and Dustin Poirier, the hugely anticipated trilogy bout can take place sometime in the future as well.
