It’s official! One of the biggest names in women’s MMA, Valentina Shevchenko, is all set to defend her title for the 5th time. This time, the threat is in Jessica Andrade. The UFC president has announced that the bout between these 2 women will headline UFC 261 on April 24th.
This will be the first UFC event of the year to be headlined by a women’s bout. Even though the female combatants are relatively less known than their male counterparts, recent years have seen them putting up fights above par than men. Fighters like Amanda Nunes, Rose Namajunas, Weili Zhang and Shevchenko have put women’s MMA on the map.
