Kyrie Irving is arguably one of the best point guards to play the sport of basketball in this generation. There have been several individuals who have come and gone with a handful of success. But no one comes near to how talented the former NBA Champion is. He is also known as the best baller handler the game has ever since. Kyrie has proven it right with his swiftness, quick thinking, sharpness, and raw talent.
Kyrie Irving was drafted No.1 overall in 2011 and instantly rose to fame for his work. He managed to win the Rookie of the Year Award and since then his career has only seen success. Shortly after being drafted, he purchased a mansion in Westlake, Cleveland, Ohio. It was worth $800,000 and was formerly owned by one of his teammates, Daniel Gibson. The house was 5,500 sq. feet big and filled with a lot of things basketball related.
Most basketball players have massive houses and Kyrie’s mansion was no less. It included four bedrooms with six bathrooms featuring an exclusive recording studio, theater as well as a gym for Kai to work out in. Irving is sometimes seen as an old-school individual and this mansion in particular best suited his personality. However, this remained his home for only around 7 years before it was sold.
Did Kyrie Irving sell his Westlake mansion?
After having a wonderful stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers during their championship run in 2016, Irving would spend one more year with the team. In 2017, he pushed to be traded as he felt he was being overshadowed by his teammate, LeBron James. After joining the Boston Celtics, it is obvious, the point guard had to move to Boston. According to Clutch Points, the Westlake mansion was put for sale listed at $1.7 million.
Kyrie was unable to find interested buyers which made him stoop down to $755,000. Houses like these do not sell easily due to the history that comes along with them. Irving did not sell at a profit but it indeed got it off his shoulders. Kai used to spend his free time at this mansion. But it is possible that Irving had to deal with the same issues after leaving Boston in 2019.
He landed in Brooklyn where he played for the Nets alongside Kevin Durant. Irving was involved in a lot of controversies which mainly revolved around his ideologies and belief system. He was eventually shipped from Brooklyn as well after three and a half seasons. Now he plays for the Dallas Mavericks.
