Bob Myers is regarded as one of the best NBA executives around today. He was responsible for several important moves made by the Golden State Warriors organization as he was their President of Basketball Operations and General Manager. Myers, unlike other general managers, has always stuck with his core players. This resulted in four big-time NBA Championships during his decade-long career.
He was hired by the Warriors in 2011 as an apprentice but eventually got promoted to the GM’s position. Bob played an important part in the acquisition of Head Coach Steve Kerr as well and he ended up becoming one of the best coaches of all time. He landed acquisitions such as Zaza Pachulia, JaVale McGee, and Kevin Durant. Myers also helped retain players like Klay Thompson and Draymond Green to long-term contracts.
