NBA Matchup: Chicago Bulls vs Philadelphia 76ers
Date: 7th March 2022
Time: 7:00 pm ET
The Chicago Bulls currently are on the 2nd longest losing streak in the league. They’ve been dropping from the top of the East to now 4th, right before the NBA playoffs. The Bulls are a very new team that lacks experience and therefore need to take any advantage they can get i.e., home-court advantage.
Tonight they will be taking on the 76ers who just got humbled by the Miami Heat on their last outing. This gives Philadelphia just as much to prove tonight in an exciting Eastern Conference matchup. These teams have faced off 3 times before, the last game taking place on 6th February 2021.
Who has been winning the season series?
The last time Philly played the Bulls, they did not have James Harden. So these 3 games have been with a worse 76ers team. However, this team was still slapping around the Bulls and are 3-0 up in the season series.
In-game 1, Joel Embiid ghosted with his 18 points, 33.3% shooting from the field, and 20% shooting from the 3. Seth Curry and Georges Niang have shot the lights out and carried the Sixers over a valiant Chicago Bulls effort. The backlash that Embiid received from that game pushed him to have big performances the next 2 times these teams met.
Embiid scored 30 points in the 2nd game and 40 points in the 3rd. His scoring extinguished the performance of Lavine and DeRozan in those games respectively. Embiid understood that the Bulls had no way to stop him except for trying to outscore him and capitalized on that.
Demar and Lavine have both had huge games against the Sixers, time in and time out. However, it’s their defensive effort and bench scoring that has cost them these games.
Chicago Bulls vs Philadelphia 76ers prediction
Chicago Bulls are being dominated in this season series and have already lost that battle. However, if they stop the Harden and Embiid Sixers tonight, we’d know that the Sixers are struggling against the best teams in the East and are not locked to win the East. But with how dominant they have been over the Bulls and Chicago struggling at the moment it’s unlikely that Emiid and Harden won’t grab the win.
The Philadelphia 76ers are predicted to sweep this season series and beat the Chicago Bulls tonight.
