NBA Matchup: Denver Nuggets vs Brooklyn Nets

Date: 19th  December 2021

Time: 7:30 PM ET

The injury-hit Brooklyn Nets take on the Denver Nuggets at the Barclays Center in New York. This will be the first game that both teams will play this season.

Brooklyn Nets season so far

The Brooklyn Nets have been one of the worst-hit teams with the Covid-19 Virus. The Nets will miss James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving, Bruce Brown, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Paul Millsap against the Nuggets. In the last ten games, the Nets are averaging 110.2 points, 47.1 rebounds, 25.4 assists, 6.5 steals, and 5.3 blocks per game while shooting 45.8% from the field. Whereas opponents have averaged 108.2 points per game against Brooklyn.

Kevin Durant has been the leader of the Nets with his incredible 29.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 5.9 assists. He has been also leading the league in scoring and could win his fifth scoring title. But against the Nuggets, Patty Mills would be the best Nets’ player with stats of 16.3 points over the last 10 games.

Denver Nuggets season so far

The Denver Nuggets have been steadily climbing through the western conference as the seventh seed. The Nuggets have quietly started to come alive offensively with the team scoring 111-plus points in five out of their last six games. Their primary trouble spot has been the inconsistent play on the defensive end of the floor. In the last ten games, Nuggets have won six games and are averaging 114.4 points, 39.8 rebounds, 29.8 assists, 7.2 steals and 4.1 blocks per game while shooting 49.3% from the field.

Nikola Jokic is on pace to win his second consecutive MVP. The Joker is averaging 26.3 points, 13.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists while shooting 59.0% from the field and 38.1% beyond the arc. With Jamal Murray and Micheal Porter Jr missing time due to injuries, Monte Morris has stepped up as he is averaging 2.4 made 3-pointers over the last 10 games for Denver.

Denver Nuggets vs Brooklyn Nets Match Prediction

The Denver Nuggets are clear favorites to win the game against the Brooklyn Nets. With Kevin Durant missing the game, Nikola Jokic would have free rein to display his greatness against a depleted Nets team. Brooklyn suffered a tough loss against the 14th seeded Orlando Magic with their second unit. Hence with a healthy roster and the Denver Nuggets will most likely win this game.
