Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and the Boston Celtics face the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. This young core has carried their team the deepest it has been into the postseason since they arrived in the league. Brown has stepped up this NBA Finals for his team. It would interest many people to know that he was once offered an internship by NASA.
One must wonder how an NBA player, a person who is dedicated to training their physical body, can also be an intellectual person. However, Jaylen has changed this narrative. He has always been an excellent student in school and can also be considered a deep thinker and philosopher.

Jaylen Brown has connections with NASA
There are roughly between 350-500 players in the NBA. It is important to not be prejudiced and discriminate against all of them as average or below average in terms of intellectual capacity. However, perhaps there is some truth in saying athletes are not naturally the most mentally sharp.
JB’s experience in the educational system, as well as society, helped push him forward in various fields of life. It is not easy fighting racial and societal barriers in the first place. He realized that pursuing opportunities that mattered to him was crucial to his development as a human being.
Jaylen studied at the University of California, Berkley, where he took graduate classes parallel to working on his basketball game. It is also important to keep in mind that sports scholarships play a big role in the life of a teenage athlete and many schools and colleges have established a certain academic cutoff to be qualified for said scholarship.
The young Celtics star soon became an MIT fellow as opposed to pursuing his potential internship with NASA. However, his connections to the organization and his passion for science and space persisted. Back in 2019, he went on a tour of NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope Operations Control and even had joked with the people there.
Thank you to Jaylen Brown (@FCHWPO) and the @celtics for stopping by this week. Hope you had a ball touring @NASAHubble! pic.twitter.com/oSecNMQIPN

It is good to hear that JB is an intellectual. He is also reportedly an excellent chess player. Brown will need to utilize every bit of this intellect and channel it. This is if he hopes to stop Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
