LeBron James is almost at the level of a global celebrity due to his impact and legacy on the basketball court. There have been countless times when King James likely felt pressure or even fear in the court. However, he once revealed that the challenges of fatherhood and raising his son Bronny James also caused him to feel scared.
As we all know, the Los Angeles Lakers star has two sons and a daughter. Although we are sure all his children are equally special and precious to him, there is no denying that the birth of Bronny led to a significant amount of change and development on LeBron’s side. Let us take a closer look at what King James had to say about Bronny.
LeBron James credits Bronny James for his own development as a father
We already know that LeBron is an amazing basketball player. He managed to make it all the way to the NBA Finals 10 times in his 20-year career so far and has 4 titles to his legacy. Although there is no denying that these accolades aided in his overall development, it turns out that being a father and raising his young son also fostered growth in LeBron.
Or so he claimed in a video that he posted on Instagram a while ago. In it, King James discussed the doubts and struggles he had about becoming a father. He also shared how all of that soon went away largely due to the growth of his son.
“I always knew I could be a great ball player, then I had you and I had no idea how I was going to be as a father…I’ll be honest, I was scared. But I kept trying and as you grew, so did I. Patience, commitment, joy. The things I learnt from basketball but really I understood from you.”

LeBron also included a caption to his post that reiterated his point, “I am who I am because of you! Thank you son (sad emoticons) LOVE YOU YOUNG KING.” The video also included several snippets displaying LeBron’s relationship with his son and journey in being a father.
Upon seeing this we can’t help but be impressed and admire King James. Many parents feel a sense of entitlement from their children since they bring the young ones into the world and raise them. While LeBron certainly met those requirements, he is also humble enough to realize how his son changed his own view of the world and development as an adult.
