Kawhi Leonard

Kawhi Leonard is the talented small forward in the NBA. After the 2021 pos-season, Kawhi Leonard decided to decline his $36 million player option to become a free agent. A lot of teams were interested in acquiring Leonard but it sure does seem like Leonard wants to stay in LA. The big question that remains is his status for next season considering he suffered an injury.

The injury that ruled Kawhi Leonard out of the playoffs

During the playoffs, Kawhi Leonard took a huge blow to his knee and ACL. The injury led to the superstar being benched for the rest of the post-season. Leonard is a key player for the Los Angeles Clippers. The likes of Paul George and Terence Mann were not able to help the Clippers advance to the NBA finals.

It was said that Leonard had recently undergone surgery for the same injury. He had a mild ACL tear.

Will the fans get to see Kawhi Leonard on the court this upcoming season?

While people wondered where the Board Man is going to go in the future, sources said that Leonard will re-sign with the Clippers. This is both good and bad news for the Clippers.

With Kawhi Leonard choosing to stay back, the Los Angeles Clippers have an amazing team. They have Paul George, Terence Mann, Ibaka has returned from injury as well. Leonard finished the last season with 30.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.

The bad news will be that Kawhi Leonard might not play the following season or at least half of it. As of now, no statement has been issued as to how Kawhi is recovering. There have been no details about his contract as well. But from the looks of how bad the injury was it sure does look like Clipper Nation will have to wait for some time to see Kawhi craft some amazing plays.
