Isaiah Thomas is an American professional basketball player who is now on a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans. He played point guard for the Washington Wizards in the 2019-20 season. Being a very short guard according to NBA standards, IT adapted to quickness off the ball and finishing off contact. He improved his perimeter scoring and is a real offensive threat as we saw in the Pro-Am.
Isaiah Thomas silences haters in Pro-Am
Isaiah Thomas had the arena on its heels while dropped in shot after shot on a mesmerizing 81 point outing in Pro-Am. Even after being slept on by multiple franchises, he says 2016 IT is back. His love for the game made him persistent and determined not to give up even after a bad season. The game was in Seattle and last week he dropped 65 in Atlanta. His game was one for the ages.

The late great Kobe Bryant dropped 81 points on the Raptors in early 2006, second only to the 100 point performance by Wilt Chamberlain. IT also tweeted “Miss my guy” about Kobe Bryant on his Twitter two days before the game. It’s heartwarming to see the basketball world still honouring Kobe in every aspect of the game. This is his second 60-point outing in 2 weeks. He has been unstoppable on the floor. He’s showing traces of his spectacular season for the Boston Celtics in 2016.

The Isaiah Thomas effect
After being drafted 60th overall by the Sacramento Kings in 2011. He jumped teams until he was traded to the Boston Celtics in 2015. That changed his NBA career. From being an unwanted pick to a superstar in one season. He made the all-star team and even came so close to winning an MVP. He scored a career-high 52 points against the Miami Heat at the TD garden right before new year’s eve in 2016.
With a hint to a potential return to the league this season, we have to wait and see which team decides to sign him. The Los Angeles Lakers are the strong favourites. They still have one spot left on their roster. The last time IT suited up in the purple and gold, he couldn’t make much of an impact for the Laker nation. The Lakers could use a backup point guard to support Westbrook. With IT’s shooting hands that won’t be a concern for the lakers.
