Any team in the NBA would be proud to accommodate a player like Ja Morant on their roster. His raw talent has helped him achieve laurels over the last few years in the league. The former NBA Rookie of the Year is one of the most rigid guards to tackle in the league. Most may agree with the fact that he is a proven superstar and can go down a path of undeniable success.
Last year was one of his best seasons. Ja Morant won the Most Improved Player of the Year Award for averaging 27.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game on 49.3% shooting. With a massive 8-point boost to his offense, he led the Memphis Grizzlies to the Western Conference Semi-Finals. Despite these shortcomings, “Black Jesus” proved along with his teammates that the Grizzlies are the team to look out for.
Ja Morant signed a $193 million contract with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2022
Ja Morant was absolutely unguardable even during his rookie years. Having a smaller frame with high athletic abilities, the American Basketball star was briefly looked at as a walking injury waiting to happen. But his missed dunks and awkward landings soon meant nothing. The former ROTY winner learned how to balance out his game and utilize his basketball knowledge in more effective ways. This is why he ranks high amongst guards and why he could win the MVP award in the years to come.
Last year, Ja Morant signed a massive $193 million rookie extension with the Memphis Grizzlies. The contract is valid for up to five years after which he will become an unrestricted free agent. His contract was the largest ever offered by the Grizzlies. The offer could even be extended to $231 million as well.
Based on the contract that he signed with Memphis last year, Ja Morant will make an average of 38.6 million per season until 2027. Added to his massive endorsement with Nike, Morant will become a big-time earner in the coming years. Back in 2019, Ja signed a contract with the sports brand which was worth $12 million. With the latest release of his signature line, the revenue earned will eventually be doubled.

Morant has a really bright future ahead of him and could potentially become a strong leader in the league. In all fairness, he might have already reached that level in his career. The Grizzlies are bound for another deep playoff run this season. But the competition has only gotten tougher since the All-Star Weekend.
