Kobe and Gigi Bryant Autopsy Report: What We Know About Their Tragic Last Few Seconds

Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi passed away three years ago, however, it still feels unbelievable. On the fateful day of the crash, a total of 9 people succumbed to the horrifying accident. Ara Zobayan was the pilot on the day, with whom Kobe had flown multiple trips on the same route. However, it goes down to a human error and the possible explanation is the disorientation suffered by the pilot. 

We will look at the autopsy report of both Kobe and his daughter, and the final moments before their death. Kobe and her daughter Gigi boarded a 1991 Sikorsky S-76B and were headed for a game at the Mamba Sports Academy. However, midway through the flight the pilot had to take another route, due to limited visibility. However, the pilot suffered disorientation and was headed straight to the ground despite mentioning on the radio that he was going up.

Kobe’s last words before his death were to the All-Time leading scorer in the NBA, LeBron James. King James crossed Kobe in the All-Time scoring list, a day before his death, and wished the 4x MVP for crossing him. However, Kobe passed away the same day when he sent out a Tweet congratulating LeBron. “Continuing to move the game forward @KingJames. Much respect my brother #33644,” said Kobe in the tweet.

The entire handling of the accident stirred up controversy. Los Angeles County had to pay $29 million in compensation for the photos that were shared of the accident. However, according to the autopsy reports, the last moments of the passengers on the helicopter are horrific. It was such a terrible accident no one should wish it on anybody regardless of the situation. The autopsy of Kobe and Gigi also shows the last moments shared by the other passengers.

The helicopter crashed head-on, and it potentially resulted in instant death. Kobe and Gigi suffered fatal injuries, however, it is hard to differentiate who suffered what injuries. However, they suffered multiple trauma injuries to the head and chest, with the legs severed from the body. There was an evisceration of the brain and internal organs. Both of them suffered severe burns to the body, with the Mamba suffering 30% burns to his body.

The release of the autopsies angered some of the fans who even questioned the decision to be released in the first place. All we can do is hope that the souls of the departed on that fateful day rest in peace.
