LeBron James is arguably one of the most dominant players when it comes to driving to the basket. The pass-first player is now the All-Time leading scorer in the NBA, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The 2023 NBA All-Star is underway, and James will be playing in his 19th All-Star appearance. James will select his team for the All-Star game as a captain against Giannis Antetokounmpo.
LeBron James has been requested by fans since coming to the league in 2003 to participate in the Slam-Dunk contest. However, James took part in the Powerade Jam Fest at the McDonald’s All-American Game and won the title. If James happened to take part in the Slam-Dunk contest he would certainly raise the roof.
At Skip and Shannon UNDISPUTED, they even compared how LeBron is a power dunker. Skip Bayless, one of LeBron’s greatest critics agrees that he would’ve won a dunk contest if he participated in one. “LeBron is a power dunker and didn’t want the pressure of coming up with skit dunks. LeBron didn’t want to risk his high-flying mystique. But I think he would’ve won whatever dunk contest he participated in,” said Skip.
.@RealSkipBayless on LeBron never joining the NBA Dunk Contest:

Nonetheless, it is another story of what if? but LeBron has decided to stay away from a dunk contest. “However, he has never taken part in it. “It’s over with. I’m getting too old for that…..There were times when I wanted to do it. But I came into All-Star Weekend a few times banged up and I didn’t want to risk further injury,” said James as per Cleveland.com. James has playes a lot of minutes during the regular season, and often times he has prioritized his team by avoiding any unneccesary injuries.
Who are LeBron James’ all-time dunk contest favorites?
King James can be easily called one of the best dunkers of his generation. He is the most complete player on the court, however, he hasn’t participated in the All-Star Slam Dunk contest. James took to Twitter to have a Q&A session in 2022 with his fans, to which @timelesssports_ asked, “if you could make an all-time dunk contest, which 4 players are you choosing?”
Vince, Lavine, Nique, Me. 🤷🏾♂️

LeBron James responded with, “Vince, Lavine, Nique, Me.” Said, James. James picked previous Slam-Dunk contest winners Vince Carter, Zach LaVine, and Dominique Wilkins. The players picked by LeBron are the best performers in the Slam-Dunk contest. However, he included his name in the mix, despite not having participated in the contest in his career. It’s fair to advocate that James’ dunks are dominating.
