NBA Matchup: Los Angeles Lakers vs Portland Trail Blazers
Date: 9th February 2022
Time: 10:00 pm ET
The Los Angeles Lakers will be taking on the Portland Trail Blazers tonight. Los Angeles will be playing the 2nd game of their back-to-back. Whilst for the Trail Blazers, it will be their first game after the monumental changes they have made to their roster. They have already played each other 3 times this season and 2 times in 2022. Their last matchup was earlier this month on the 3rd of February 2022.
Who Has Been Dominating this Season Series?
Portland and the Lakers are division rivals. That means they play each other four times in a season. So far this season, they have already played each other 3 times. Los Angeles does not have a lot of wins this season but they have bashed up on the Blazers. They currently lead the season series 2 games to 1.
And both wins have come in the last 2 games. After losing the first game by 15 the Lakers went on to beat them by 33 points and then by 5. In the first game, the Lakers did not play any of their stars. In game 2, LeBron dominated with a stat line of 43 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. And in the 3rd game, Anthony Davis scored 30 points and grabbed 15 rebounds with 3 blocks.
Los Angeles Lakers vs Portland Trail Blazers Prediction
The Portland Trail Blazers traded away their best healthy player away last night, along with the only chance they have to win tonight. Portland has 9 unavailable players, including Damian Lillard, tomorrow making it close to impossible to even match up with a team that has bullied them this season. And based on prior history, LeBron and AD do seem to love to play against Damian Lillard.
The Lakers were just humiliated by the Bucks last night. Which could either mean they try extremely hard to get the win and boost morale or rest their stars against a team that has none. Honestly, with all the things that are going wrong in Tinsel Town, a win is very needed. Especially a win against a division rival.
I predict the Los Angeles Lakers to get a much-needed win against Portland and dominate the season’s series.
