NBA fans don’t like the $400 price tag that the Nike Ja 1 “Midnight” comes with. We are all familiar that the Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant signed a contract with Nike and has an upcoming shoe line to be released. While there is no denying that Ja deserves a shoe deal, one should wonder if this pricing strategy was smart.

In fact, fans are quite vocal about the shoe’s price and have made their feelings clear. After all, $400 is no small amount of money and is beyond the affordability of the public. That said, let us take a look at how fans feel about this shoe.
Fans disagree that the Nike Ja 1 “Midnight” is worth $400
Perhaps Nike should have done better field studies before releasing a shoe that costs such a significant amount of money. Fans were simply stunned by the fact that the Nike Ja 1 “Midnight” is worth even more than Jordans, or most other shoes promoted by contemporary athletes.
This has led to a plethora of criticism being thrown at both Nike and Morant. NBA fans feel that Ja isn’t an accomplished enough player to be worthy of promoting $400 kicks, “Why he already got $400 shoes like he’s done something?”

Although several fans liked the design of the shoe, they all seemed to be in consensus that it was simply too expensive and not worth it, “$400 and you seen what kind of economy we are all living in?“, “Hey, if you like it, and got the bread to burn do you. They don’t look like $400 kicks but that’s just me.”

Some are even joking that the shoe should have a built-in gun, or some other special feature in order to justify the exorbitant price. A few of them pointed out that the shoe was available for $250 at the Ja Morant Nike store during the NBA All-Star weekend.
Clean asf but 400$?😂

However, even $250 is a lot of money, when compared to the other shoes in the market. To give fans an idea, most shoes endorsed by signature athletes cost between 100-150. Even LeBron James’ Nike LeBron 20 costs $200, which is even less than Ja Morant’s Nike Ja 1 “Midnight.”
In any case, we hope that the ones who do buy these shoes find them to be worth it. Unfortunately, it is highly unlikely for such expensive shoes to be used by average kids on the court.
