The Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics face off for the 2022 NBA Finals. This exciting matchup has the world excited and eagerly anticipating a victor. Adam Sandler, a big fan of the NBA, discussed the matchup and his prediction for the series.
Shaquille O’Neal’s podcast has grown in popularity over time and he invited Sandler as a guest on it. Here he was given the opportunity and platform to share his prediction. It is important to note that Adam is also quite a good basketball player himself and considerably knowledgeable on the subject.
Adam Sandler picks the Golden State Warriors to win narrowly
Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have dominated the Western Conference this season. They have never been forced to a game 7 even once this NBA postseason. The only team that has forced a game 6 from them so far was the Memphis Grizzlies and Ja Morant. Every other team that faced them has been eliminated in a matter of 5 games.
The Boston Celtics have had a much tougher road to the NBA Finals. They crushed the Brooklyn Nets in the first round. However, both Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks as well as Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat were able to force them to a game 7. The Celtics may have emerged victorious. However, we have seen them already fight with their backs against the wall.
We have yet to see what Curry and GSW are capable of in this situation. Adam was well aware of that and decided to choose the Golden State Warriors. However, he was in no way slighting the Boston Celtics.
” I don’t know man I didn’t know this was coming… I do like the guys on the team they are cool as hell… But the Warriors I can’t give you a real answer… I wouldn’t be surprised if the Celtics make it real tough I think the Warriors are gonna be shocked how great what that D does to them but there are too many guys on the warriors that can hit shots“.
Sandler is definitely right on this well-worded and balanced take. The Celtics are larger, and physical and have proved their dominance this NBA postseason. However, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole, and the rest of the Warriors have the raw potential to simply outscore the Celtics till the very end.
