In the latest episode of ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq’, the 4x NBA Champion, co-host Adam Lefkoe, and Jamal Crawford discussed various topics. Amidst this, O’Neal brought up the age-old beef that he has with Howard who played in the league for 18 seasons and is currently representing the Mets de Guaynabo of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional.
O’Neal said, “All I said about the young fella was, ‘He needs to average 28 & 15.’ I don’t know how it got to ‘He don’t like me!'” He explained that it had nothing to do with him not liking him, rather, O’Neal was telling him how to get to Superman status. Fans must be aware that the moniker ‘Superman’ is shared between O’Neal and Howard, this is just one of the aspects of their beef as neither of them is fond of sharing this with the other.

In January 2024, Shaquille O’Neal made an appearance on Trae Young’s podcast, ‘From The Point.’ During this, he reflected on the kind of relationship he shared with Howard. O’Neal shocked everyone as he stated, “If I mention your name, it means I love and respect you. Like, I used to love Dwight.” There was a hint of jealousy as he expressed that Howard used to do something that he couldn’t.
“I wish I could jump that high. I love Dwight Howard,” O’Neal said. If we didn’t have the footage of this podcast, no one would probably believe that the former Lakers player said that he loved Howard. He acknowledged that this was his first time saying this.
