Somehow someway Wiggins made his way into the starting lineup. Even though it’s fans who are criticizing Wiggins being an All-Star, it is the fans’ job to vote for players who deserve being an All-Star.
It is in the hands of fans as they vote for players to appear in the All-Star game. Thus criticizing Wiggins is unfair, he is having one of the best seasons of his career.
He is one of the best defenders of GSW. Andrew Wiggins is also averaging a career-high in 3 point shooting (40%), he has been efficient from the field too as he is shooting 48% from the field.
Even though Wiggins deserves to be an All-Star but not a starter. There are more talented players who deserve it more than Wiggins does.
Players who deserve All-Star starter more than Andrew Wiggins
Andrew is listed as a Forward in the All-Star voting. Even though when compared to forwards in which players like AD are included Wiggins came out on top.
Players in the Forward positing who deserved it more than Wiggins are Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert. KAT is having a far better statistical season than Wiggins. Towns is averaging 24 points 9.4 boards on 51% from the field and 40% from behind the arc.
In the case of Rudy Gobert, he is again of the leading candidates for Defensive player of the year. Gobert has the highest field percentage in the league (70%) and is first in rebounding in the league with 15 rebounds per game. Gobert is also averaging 16 points and 2.3 blocks per game.
However, there are still many guards who cannot compete in the Forward position like Luka Donic, Chris Paul, Devin Booker are more deserving than Wiggins.
